About the LAIFL
Football leagues have positively changed the football landscape, creating the ideal environments to nurture players, coaches and volunteers. The result is greater diversity and inclusivity through football.
Our league offers positive playing opportunities for players with disabilities from local clubs, across Leicestershire and Rutland. This provides a chance to use their skills and progression from training, and place that into regular matches, putting their hard work into practice.
The Leicestershire Adult Inclusive Football League provides opportunities for male and female players in the categories below:
Where there are no female-specific teams available, the league provides information and guidance to apply for individual dispensation to play in mixed football.
A monthly fixture programme is hosted by the local inclusive clubs around Leicestershire or at a central venue.
The Leicestershire Adult Inclusive Football League is dedicated to delivering football for all in a safe and friendly environment. We are committed to upholding and demonstrating good sportsmanship by providing positive support for all: players, coaches, parents and officials at every game and event.
Safeguarding & Welfare
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. As an Adult Inclusive League for open age football (teams with players aged 16+), we must give additional and specific consideration to how we are ‘safeguarding adults’ and ‘adult at risk’

Divisions
The principle of assigning players to divisions differs from Para Sport classification, in that we seek to assign players to a division based upon their footballing ability rather than their level of impairment.
Through these divisions, we seek to ensure fair play, exciting football and a level playing field for all.
Green Division
(League level): players participating at this level have limited mobility, spatial awareness and fitness.
Red Division
(Championship level): players participating at this level are mobile, have spatial and tactical awareness, knowledge of the laws of the game and have a good level of fitness.
Purple Division
(Premier League level): players participating at this level are able to cope physically, have good levels of spatial awareness, excellent ability to understand tactics and good levels of physical strength and fitness.
Meet the Teams
Since September 2022 when the LAIFL kicked off as an independent adult league, clubs throughout Leicestershire have entered teams across the three divisions.
Our league is growing all the time with clubs entering more teams and players, and more clubs joining.

Developing our League
Our league is reviewed regularly to assess our impact and effectiveness. Feedback is sought from players, volunteers, and stakeholders, with necessary changes made to improve the league's operations and outcomes.
The league also seeks to expand our reach and impact by connecting with more football clubs and other disability organisations.
We endorse the Participant Charter to protect the game
